BVN means Bank Verification Number. It is used to connect all your bank accounts together alongside your personal information such as name, date of birth, next of kin, photograph and fingerprints.
BVN makes it easy to identify owners of accounts as well as the banks of the user. It is a database maintained by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN to do many things including protection and detection of fraud.
If you want to know your BVN without going to the bank to request for it, you just have to dial a certain code.
The code is the same for all networks whether MTN, glo, Airtel or 9mobile.
The only requisite is that you must have at least #10 on your SIM, because you’ll be charged for the service.
To get your BVN, regardless of the network you use inasmuch as it’s the SIM you used to register for it, use the following code:

On MTN, dial *565*0#. You’ll get your BVN immediately.
On glo, dial *565*0#. You’ll get your BVN immediately.
On 9mobile or Etisalat, dial *565*0#. You’ll get your BVN immediately.
On Airtel, dial *565*0#. You’ll get your BVN immediately.
You’ll be charged #10 and get your BVN immediately. Just ensure you dial from the number you used when registering for the BVN.
There can only be one BVN per person. It is that one BVN that will connect all your bank accounts together.
